My visual identity proposal for Divadlo X10 is based on the principle of movement and the human body, specifically the moment when the human figure assumes a gesture resembling the shape of the letter X. This motif becomes the central symbol of the entire identity. Using creative coding, I map an illustrated figure onto a generated skeleton, which allows for flexible and efficient production of visuals for posters as well as digital outputs, such as social media.
The color palette builds on the theatre’s original visual style of black and white, which I have expanded with a bold orange. This color references an optical phenomenon in which, under strong orange light, everything appears almost black and white. I also plan to use orange in spatial installations, creating a connection between the visual identity and the theatre’s physical and digital environments.
The core principle of the identity is further developed through a typographic system inspired by the name X10 itself. The numerals are vertically rotated, and the names of months are stylized in formats such as “V5” for May and “Z9” for September. This approach gives calendar events a distinctive and easily recognizable visual code.
The Y events program line is visually differentiated but remains connected to the main identity through the use of the orange color and the Saans typeface.
